OUGD603 - Research led brief - Inspiration

For inspiration I looked at monographs, catalogues and annuals as they are similar to what I'm aiming to achieve for my book.

The Beazley Designs of the Year is an annual review of the most innovative, relevant and thought-provoking projects in contemporary design. The catalogue brings together all the shortlisted projects, and gives a snapshot of the most exciting things happening in design right now.

Unit Edions have a archive series which is a bibliographic celebration of graphic design archives and collections. I looked at the first title in the series which is devoted to the design of postage stamps. It celebrates each stamp and its designer in brief form.

Featuring writings on design, a curated portfolio of design landmarks and a simple timeline charting the development of the modern design industry, Designer Maker User was a great example to look at as it looks at design and its far reaching impact on the world in which we live in.

Chair: 500 Designs That Matter is a really simple book which gives straight to the point information regarding each design.
