OUGD503 - Studio brief 02 - Print and photography
On the 20th March it was almost deadline day for the brief as our print and photography slots were pre booked for this date. For the print slot in the morning we printed the illustrative poster in A2, the 3 supporting typographic posters in A3, then a set of vinyl stickers. All went well apart from removing the drop shadow of the type on the illustrative poster, this was because once it was printed the type looked superficial and we believed it would look much better flat. Altogether the printing came to £11 with the group splitting the cost three ways.
When it came to the photography studio we were open to ideas as we didn't go there with prepared shots and an idea of what we wanted. Once we set the kit up and had all the work laid out we decided to experiment with both a red and blue background, so we purchased card from the library. As we continued to experiment with the layout of the work and background, we had a great idea of forming the Parisian flag with the red and blue card. This provided a striking backdrop for the posters, and in some cases made the posters look 3D. In terms of the job roles for the photography studio, Ben did all the camera work which was for the best as I did highlight this as one of Ben skills before we undertook collaboration. Myself and Joe played with the layouts of the posters, so art directing in many ways.
