Research

I wanted to research into ways in which exhibitions / events are advertised on social media, social media is the key part of advertising this event I think, as posters and leaflet only have a certain reach unlike social media in which you can spread the word on various platforms to a larger target audience. Plus with social media you can easily keep people updated with changes in the event unlike printed media advertising in which the information remains the same. First of all I looked on Facebook at events that Im personally interested in to see how events management keep people interested and updated online.

Facebook offers the most important information such as the time / date, location and tickets straight away for viewers, the event can gain more exposure if you select interested or going so this is just another way of spreading the word.

Frequent updates of the venue location can remind people of the event and make them more aware of the exhibition before they even attend. Having related events on the event page can inform people of other events being hosted by the college or even just events being held in creative spaces within the city.

Related news / information to the event which once again informs people of the event before they attend. Facebook allows people to contact the events easily to find out more information too.
